Jacky EVEN and his multidisciplinary team from Rennes, at the interface between semiconductor physics and solid state chemistry, have made remarkable advances in the understanding of the electronic, optical and structural properties of a novel of semiconductors : the halogenated perovskites. These hybrid organic/inorganic materials are the subject of considerable interest worldwide because state of the art photovoltaic performances were achieved after only a few years of research. The perovskite team in Rennes relies on an extended network of international collaborations, particularly in USA and through european projects. The exploration of new fundamental properties and applications is still ongoing.
This prestigious prize exists since 1971 and is intended to reward and encourage a French scientist for his or her outstanding and original work in the field of physical sciences, whether theoretical or experimental.
